Clod, at clod.chat, is operated by Mpyr Media LLC. By using it you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What this is

Clod is a work of parody and entertainment. It is a joke about AI assistants, and the character answering inside it is called Doofus. The character is designed to be confidently, obviously wrong, and the answers are wrong on purpose.

Some replies are generated by an AI language model and some come from a fixed script. The site does not say which is which, and does not say which model. No human is typing.

Nothing here is advice

Nothing on this site is information, advice or a recommendation of any kind, including medical, legal, financial or safety advice, and nothing here is a substitute for a professional. Don't rely on anything Doofus says. For anything that matters, ask a qualified human. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

When we step out of character

If a message looks like real distress, or a real health, legal, money or safety question, the site stops joking and shows a plain reply marked "out of character". Those replies are messages from us, the people who run the site, pointing you to real help. They are not advice either, and they are never shareable.

You must be 18 or older

This site is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it and at least 18 to join the email list.

Free, with limits

Clod is free. It has a daily budget and per-visitor limits, which can change at any time. We may limit, suspend or end access at any time, and we may change or shut down the site without notice.

Using the site

Please do not: try to break, overload or get around the site's limits; use bots, scripts or other automated tools to send requests; use Clod as a general-purpose AI service; use the site to produce content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or sexual; pass off its answers as real information; pretend Clod is an official product of any AI company; misrepresent the site or its output as coming from anyone else; or resell access to it.

Some replies are produced through an AI provider's service, and that provider's usage policy applies to what is sent through it. Don't ask Doofus to do anything that policy forbids.

What you type

You are responsible for what you type. Do not type anything private, confidential or sensitive. We do not store your messages. See the privacy policy for what happens to them.

Share cards

You are welcome to share the cards the site makes. They are created on your own device and we never host them. Every card is marked as parody, and you must not remove or obscure that marking, or present a card as a genuine statement by any real product, company or person.

Our stuff

Clod, Doofus, Entropic, and the site's design, characters, artwork, writing and code belong to Mpyr Media LLC. Claude and Anthropic are trademarks of Anthropic, referenced here for parody and commentary only. You may share screenshots and share cards for personal, non-commercial purposes. Everything else is reserved. Nothing here is sold, and no other site or product is promoted from it.

Not affiliated

Clod is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any AI company, assistant or product, and is not licensed or authorised by any of them. The name, the look and the character are parody and commentary.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. It is a joke website and it may be unavailable, broken or wrong at any time. Accuracy is especially not included.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Mpyr Media LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict of law rules.
